An experienced English Language Teacher with a Canadian educational background and upbringing, but of Greek origin, delivers high-quality English classes for a variety of purposes. Whether it is exam preparation for Cambridge(I am a standardized Speaking examiner for all suites), for IELTS(I am an inactive Speaking & Writing examiner), academic English for pre-sessional/foundation courses for English Speaking universities, General English, Business English, CELTA assistance, or TKT courses, the teacher's expertise ensures success in all areas. Currently, I teach part-time at the British Council in Athens, Kolonaki.

I have a wealth of experience in teaching English as a foreign language and possess a strong academic background. With a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Liverpool, I am currently pursuing the Cambridge ESOL Delta, thereby acquiring knowledge and practical experience to help students achieve their desired results.
I have extensive experience in teaching pre-sessional and in-sessional courses at various universities, which has given me a profound understanding of ELT within the context of English for Academic Purposes and Higher Education. As an experienced teacher, I have developed an excellent awareness of assessment techniques for writing/speaking skills, providing constructive feedback, identifying problem areas, and reviewing weak areas.
I have managed and delivered course modules, contributed to team-taught course units, designed supplemental materials, and incorporated different types of tasks into my teaching. My creativity in designing teaching materials and varying exercises makes them interesting and engaging, ensuring students remain attentive throughout.
I have a good understanding of marking written work, presentations, projects, exams and providing appropriate feedback to students through individual tutorials and classes. I am well-versed with proprietary e-learning platforms such as Blackboard, Moodle, and Canvas, as well as bespoke platforms designed specifically for the courses I taught at various universities.
I have taught international students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds throughout my career, in countries such as Greece, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, China, East Timor, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Teaching mixed-ability classes is a challenge, but I have learned to adapt my teaching style to accommodate these variations.
In planning, managing, organizing, and assessing my teaching contributions, I make monthly and weekly plans. I anticipate potential difficulties and provide supplementary materials to address student needs. I am proactive and utilize resources effectively during lessons.
I am committed to my personal development and supplement my knowledge and skills by attending webinars by prominent organizations such as Cambridge and the British Council. Continuous learning and development are crucial for growth and success in any field. Pursuing a Master's degree in TESOL is a testament to my personal development and my desire to excel in my field.
